Use Lazzern's cages to capture salo weasels.

I've got it! We'll make a trade! Weasels for the crystal. But we'll need weasels first. Once we've caught a few, we can exchange them for anything we like.

It's a simple trade. It couldn't be easier. What we're still missing, besides weasels, are a couple of spare cages, but I can take care of that. I suggest that you concentrate on the weaker weasels. They won't be able to destroy the cages as quickly.

If you need more cages, I've got you covered. Once we have enough weasels, the alpha weasel won't have any choice but to make a deal with us.
