Insight and Clues

Ask the old pirates for more information.

(Maybe [122911|Jessie "The Speaking Book" Bugeye] can tell you more...)

([122910|Luke Goudian] reads and explains the inscriptions on the tablet...)

On that day we wrested the priest-staff from the hands of [107834|Yifirus], the high priest of the Sea-Tooth Tribe, with which the awe- and terror-inspiring monster, the "Terror of the Seas", could be summoned. The weapon gave us the power to make our empire, the Scarlet See, the mightiest empire of the ocean.

Once we'd summoned the "Terror of the Seas", a great celebration should have taken place, but instead, the wrathful spirit of the priest [107834|Yifirus] entered the summoned beast and melded with it. Animated by the spirit of the priest Yifirus, the beast became a tool of merciless revenge. Our empire, the land of the Scarlet Sea, was completely destroyed.

No one will ever forget the priest Yifirus and his terrible beast, for the unholy monster brought death and destruction upon our entire people. But the beast does not forget either. Our name may never be spoken again. If the beast ever hears the name of the Scarlet Sea uttered again, it will reawaken, full of the same rage and fury of old.

That's all that this tablet says. Now I wonder whether anyone else knows about this story. I'd like to ask you to ask the old pirates. Maybe they know similar or derivative stories.

Who would have thought it was possible!

An ancient culture ruled by the beasts and monsters of the sea! Fascinating! Sensational! I never would have imagined that monsters were capable of any kind of cooperation!

([122910|Luke Goudian] seems overcome by excitement.)

Do you have news? I'm sure the old sea dogs have troves of fantastic yarns and tall tales.
